Fauntleroy & Latham R.OC. II Proposal Requested

Since our first meeting after the storm, there has been an excitement, an anticipation that God wants to do something truly remarkable on this 40+ acres we call home. Since that first meeting He has continually moved us forward. In just 4 months we have had 3 meetings out of which came the following action:

Request a proposal from our architects,
Fauntleroy & Latham, as to the cost to design a sibling structure to the R.O.C. a project now known as R.O.C. II. The buildings use and space plan, in rough form, was presented in our last meeting (June 14, 2007) by Bill Boren. Danny Shaw was asked to and contacted F&L to send them this "sketch" that F&L might ascertain a figure to design this new space.

The following document was sent to Danny on July 6, 2007:
F&L R.O.C. II Proposal (click link to view proposal). An initial interview by F&L of the education staff is scheduled for August 1, 2007.

A Place to Dream

It is with great joy and a grateful heart I make this inaugural post. My prayer is that this blog creates a place to dream together. As the Strategy Planning Team for First Baptist Church Covington, Louisiana, God has called us to do that, DREAM! So let's honor Him with our obedience and not only dream, but DREAM BIG!

We will use this small place on the world wide web to communicate thoughts, concerns, ideas, and information to one another as you feel lead to share and comment. Our meetings are not always conducive to out loud thinking. So, think out loudly here...real loud if you want. I know if we use this tool it will really help to refine our thinking and make our meetings more productive.

I urge you to subscribe to the feeds by clicking on the "Subscribe to: Posts" link at bottom of the page so when someone posts or comments to this blog you will be notified via email so that you can stay informed and give feedback in a timely manner. If you have never been part of blog before, don't worry, try to relax and have fun with the technology. Let's pray..

Father, I thank you for your love and your mercy. Give us the faith to dream GOD SIZED dreams for your kingdom and our church. Remind us to keep our eyes on you, Jesus, during every step of this planning process. Continually remind us of your sovereignty and grace. It is for your glory and by your power we serve. In Your Holy Name, Jesus, we pray. AMEN!

God Bless You All!
